The 5th grade students in Mrs Utley’s PACE class at Ackerman Elementary watched NASA’s landing of the Perseverance Rover on Mars in class and used what they learned to make their own soft landings for their “Mars Rovers” in a STEM project about shock absorbers and gravity. Creativity and sunshine make for a FUN DAY!! #teamAES

Mrs. Miller’s class at Ackerman Elementary School has been learning and writing about Steve Irwin’s love for crocodiles. They got their very own gator hunter to tell why he loves alligators so much! Coach Bellew is a pro, and the kids loved hearing his stories. #teamAES





The students in Mrs. Turnipseed and Mrs. Tuck’s class at Ackerman Elementary School learned about the importance of dental hygiene. They did an experiment in which they put eggs in coffee, soda, and water. The eggs represented teeth. Mitchell Dental Clinic sent videos of hygienists who shared how to take care of our teeth properly. Mitchell Dental Clinic also donated toothbrushes and toothpaste for each student in the class. Their support was greatly appreciated, and the students enjoyed the lesson. #teamAES
